A couple weeks ago, my kids and I went
cherry picking at a friend’s farm. Christy
said he had picked as many cherries as she
wanted and gave us the go ahead to pick
as many as we wanted.
We picked and…
we picked.
We ended up with about 6 quarts, enough for 6 delicious homemade pies. We could have picked many more, but the rest were up too high and couldn’t be reached. |
Aren’t these beautiful?
The best part of the day was spending
time with my three kids, laughing as we
picked those delicious cherries.
I’m so glad you stopped by,
be sure to come back for a wonderful
Cherry Pie recipe.

Yum...they look delicious! This is the first year that we are getting cherries on our tree!
Blessings!

This post is making my tummy grumble. Those cherries look so tasty.....and six quarts of them? Mercy!!
Oh what a lovely post Christa! How wonderful that you have such a generous friend! I *love* that photo of your daughter in her skirt with the basket in her arms picking...reminds me of "Anne of Green Gables" ~ just beautiful! :)
Looking forward to that cherry pie post! :) THEN I will have to find me a generous friend....
Love,
Camille
Camille said my sentiments, exactly!
Your daughters are both such lovely girls (and, though not pictured, Luke is a handsome young man!)
MMMmm mmm! Can hardly wait for that cherry pie recipe!
We have a couple of sweet cherry trees, but never get any fruit from them ~ the birds always get it before it's even ripe. Guess we should get sour cherry tree ~ the birds don't bother them! (So I've heard.)
We were afforded the same luxury a few years ago when a church member said that we could come pick from her tree as often, and as much, as we wanted!
It is so fun to do together as a family!
Glad you enjoyed yourselves- I bet you're looking forward to those pies!
A couple weeks ago??? What a great wether! Today i picked the first strawberrys and the first cherrys i hope in the middle of july!

Although I do not like cherries, the pictures are beautiful!
Enjoy your pies! :)
Ahhh.....brings back some lovely cherry picking memories we had with you a few years ago. Did you get to hear classical music playing in the background of your laughter???
My mouth is watering thinking about those cherry pies!
Rejoicing in God's providential bounty for you, ~Donna
Beautiful cherries indeed.
Memories.
How lovely Mrs. Smith! Yes, just like my dear mother, I remember going cherry picking with you and your family a few years back! *happy sigh* Do you think you could send us one of those scrumptious pies!? :)
I hope you enjoy those yummy cherries and God bless!
Love in Christ,
Miss Antoinette

The above is my husband and my blog. You are welcome to come by and see us.
Oh, by the way, you've inspired me. There's peppermint tea on the brew!
Cherry pickin! Do you have a pitter? I would think that would help infinitely. Oh, I'd love to make cherry jam.
Yummy! Have a Cherry Day!

We moved to a new home this year and found a cherry tree on it. Joy! We used ours to make cherry jam. Yum!
What a lovely day. We love to pick cherries, too! And you must eat a few while you're working! Ours won't be ready until the end of June or the first part of July. I can't wait!
Beautiful cherries.... Although I have eaten many cherries I have never seen a real live cherry tree! Maybe someday...
God bless,
Donna
That looks like so much fun! When I was a kid, my family went raspberry picking every year and we always had a good time (even with the thorns poking us). Then we loved enjoying the raspberry cobbler that came a little later! Hope you enjoyed your pies! :)
